How to configure Outlook 2003 with SMTPs


Secure SMTP (SMTPs) allows you to check safely your email even on non-secure networks. This is very important in order to protect your privacy and account security.

Microsoft Outlook 2003 offers excellent SMTPs support and the following article describes how to enable it.

It is essential to use exactly this server name because our SSL is issued for * If you connect by SMTPs with any other server name, there will be an SSL warning that the certificate does not match the host. This warning is not fatal but it will pop up you every time you open your email client.

Once you have found out your SMTPs server name, open Microsoft Outlook 2003 and go to Tools > Email Accounts... > View or change existing e-mail accounts. Select your account and click the "Change" button. From there follow the steps below:

1. Set "Outgoing mail (SMTP):" to your SMTPs server.

2. Click the "Next" button and then "Finish" to change the modifications.

From this point on you will be sending your email securely using SMTPs.
